Group Exercise
Classes: Some of these classes are designed for
those 50 and over. Others are designed for all age groups
and fitness abilities, including those 50 and over.
These group exercise classes will consist of low impact aerobics,
stretching, range of motion exercises, balancing and flexibility
training and health and fitness discussions.
Each
class is instructed by a Certified Group Fitness trainer who
will teach proper form and correct posture in order to prevent
injury. Also, you will learn how to properly weight train,
build muscle, improve cardio endurance and strengthen bones
in order to help prevent osteoporosis.

* Silver
Sneaker Classes : The class format includes a warm-up and
rhythmic range of movement stretch, work with resistance tools,
cool down, final stretch and relaxation segment. It is an equipment-based,
multi-level, total body conditioning class in which students use
hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, a Silver Sneakers
playball and a chair for standing and/or seated support. For all
levels of fitness.
* Active
Adult: This low impact class is designed for cardio conditioning
choreographed to music using the ramp, step or moves on the floor.
This class also incorporates some resistance training. For all levels
of fitness.
* Pilates:
Consists of a series of controlled movements on the mat aimed at
strengthening deeper postural muscles in your core. For all levels
of fitness.
* Silver
Sneaker Yoga Stretch: This low impact yoga class
focuses on improving balance, restorative breathing techniques,
flexibility and movement through a variety of seated and standing
yoga poses
* Yoga Vinyasa
Lite: This low impact yoga class consists of breathing,
stretching and balancing poses. These gentle poses can help improve
your posture, metabolism, concentration, and flexibility. For all
levels of fitness.
* Yoga Vinyasa
I: This physical yoga class will have you moving
slowly between basic poses, breathing through your nose in rhythm,
all combined with stretching poses to keep you flexible. For beginners
and intermediate levels of fitness.
* Chair
Yoga: This low impact class will consist of breathing,
stretching and balance poses while sitting and/or standing next
to the chair. All ages are welcomed. For all levels
of fitness.
* Line Dancing:
Kick up your heels and have some fun learning various types of dance.
For all levels of fitness.
Spring Valley Athletic
Club also has personal training for seniors and all level of fitness.
Our certified personal trainers will work with you, as well as your
physicians' recommendations to create a workout that meets your
needs and help you reach your goals.
